Review & thoughts:
Omen of Ice by Jus Accardo is a YA fantasy book with a lot of action, romance, amazing characters and plot twists that I couldn’t put down and already can’t wait for the sequel!
When Keltania is finally ready to fulfill her life’s purpose and become a guard for a winter fae, she can’t wait to begin her assignment. But when she arrives and the court and meets Valen, her new charge who doesn’t take anything serious and doesn’t seem to care for his safety, she realizes nothing is as she thought and with many secrets coming to light, she will have to protect Valen from new and old threats to his life while trying not to fall for the charming fae.
I haven’t read YA book in a while and Omen of Ice reminded me why I like them. Keltania and Valen were amazing main characters, they were complex and not what they seemed at a first glance and I loved reading about them and their adventures. This book was so much different than what I thought it would be and it surprised me in a really good way. There was a lot of action with some great plot twists I didn’t see coming and the whole world the author created was really interesting. I would like a bit more of romance, but it was really well written and I hope to see more of it in the next book. Keltania and Valen are polar opposites and it was a lot of fun to see their banter and how they slowly began to fall for each other.
Omen of Ice is a really great and fun read that I definitely recommend. I already can’t wait for book 2 because that cliffhanger! It can’t come soon enough.
