Autumn Queens & Shadows is the fourth book in the Auran Chronicles and we finally get to read Thora and Malik’s story, I was so excited to read it and OMG it was even better than I expected, I absolutely loved this book!
AQ&S takes place 10 years after the events of the main trilogy with Thora now a queen of Isjord and dealing with a challenge for her throne from one of her cousins, Iskyla. Just when she thinks she has everything under control, it turns out that Iskyla might be more of a threat than she believed and with the reappearance of Malik, the man who was once her best friend and whom she hadn’t seen in the past 10 years, Thora realizes she will have to decide what she is willing to do for her county and what to do with Malik whom she can’t seem to stop caring about.
I’ve been obsessed with Thora and Malik’s relationship since they first met in Spring Guardians & Songbirds, they were such a great friends there and I couldn’t wait to see them turn into more. I loved all the banter, the conversations, the teasing each other and just everything about them, they had such a beautiful slow burn romance and I was always rooting for them to finally admit their feelings and have a chance to be together and they definitely didn’t disappoint. Beside the amazing characters and beautiful romance, I loved all the cameos from characters from previous books and omg all the Snow, Kil and their children’s scenes were just so perfect and wholesome, I loved reading about them and it was amazing to see them in the future. As always with Wendy books, there was also a really interesting plot with court politics and some plot twists that had me finish this book in a day because I couldn’t stop reading.
Autumn Queens & Shadows is a really amazing fantasy romance book and a great addition to this series that I loved and definitely recommend to everyone and if you haven’t started the Auran Chronicles series yet, what are you waiting for?! It’s absolutely incredible!
